Just a Reminder...

Just a reminder...
If you want to sign up for my Fall Nature Glimmer Mist book at Pages of Tyme in Big Bear, you should hurry, I think it's almost full. Class is scheduled for November 1 - next Saturday! Also, be sure to go to Tattered Angels web site at mytatteredangels.com to see their beautiful new site and to enter to win their giveaway. Here's a hint - it's a yummy treat, no trickin'. Oh, yeah, on my previous blog entry I posted pictures of the Acrylic Halloween book that I made. When I scanned in the pictures I forgot to do it from back page to front so the last picture you see is actually the front cover. Whoops, my bad. I keep forgetting to scan the last page first. Have a great weekend everyone!

Halloween Acrylic Album

I made this little Halloween book with Acrylic from Kits 2 Remember, and papers from Teresa Collins. I used thick acrylic for the covers and thin acrylic for the pages. I adhered the paper to the acrylic with glossy accents. On the pages with the decorative edges, I adhered the paper, then trimmed around the edges of the acrylic using the decorative edge as a guide, leaving about a 1/16" edge of acrylic showing. I inked the edges with black alcohol ink, but you could use staz-on ink as well. The spider web design on the front and back covers is gift wrap cellophane adhered to the inside of the front and back covers with glossy accents.

Halloween Tag Swags

These are the "Tag Swags I made for Halloween. If you would like to purchase one, contact me at luliscraps@yahoo.com. I also make them for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday, Easter, and 4th of July. I have 4 styles of Halloween, and next week I will have my Thanksgiving ones done. They are $25.00 each, plus shipping if necessary.

Wannatouchamachili?

Saturday, I had a craft booth with some friends at the Wannatouchamachili cook off in Apple Valley. Ive never been to a chili cookoff before, so this was a whole new experience for me. No, I did not make Chili (cooking is not my favorite thing). I was selling my tag swags (see photo above) It was so hot today! Almost too hot to eat chili, notice I said "almost". My favorite Chili was from "Hillbilly Chili". I just had to take pics of some of the names of the Chili booths, they are so funny!

The Expo in Ontario

Friday was the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA. I am so excited to be working in the Scrapbook Blvd booth. Our booth was right at the entrance to the event, so we were hopping all day, Yeah! I think we made about a gazillion new Glimmer Mist junkies today, and you all know how much I love to share the yummyness of the Mist! I got to visit with Wendy and Allison of Tattered Angels at their booth. Their booth was packed all day, so having a moment to just say hi was a challenge, but we managed to take a few pics (of course I did not have my camera with me - not good)so you can see those next week on their blog hopefully. I just want to say how wonderful these ladies are. I would like to see a picture of Allisons hands after a day of Glimmer Mist make and takes! You know my motto - We don't need no stinkin' gloves! The Expo was really busy. I didn't get much time to walk around, but I saw lots of friends from the Boulevard, and others. I got to see my good friend Ching, who I haven't seen in a very long time and that was great. We shared a booth with Jessica Guthrie from Kits 2 Remember. Jessica is just fabulous. She is so talented and just a really great person. Check out her blog Tenaciously Yours, you can click on the link from my blog. It was really great meeting all of the new friends at the expo too. I can't wait till the next one! We had mostly Glimmer Mist and Prima products in our booth, and both were very popular with the expo goers. We also did a fun make and take using the 8x8 metal sheets from K2R, Graphic 45 paper, flowers from Prima, and of course, Glimmer Mist!

The big 40

Yep, Wednesday I turned 40. I've come to the conclusion that the older I get, the older old is. I remember thinking 40 was ancient. Now, not so much, although there are days... Anywho, I have so much to do this week, we are going to celebrate the birthday next week. Friday is Expo in Ontario, and after that my good friend Lisa is taking me out to dinner.

Where to begin...

There has been so much going on lately, let me see, where to begin...
Let's start with Octoberfest on October 18. Donna Salazar, PrimaDonna extraordinaire was at Scrapbook Blvd for an insane 12 hour crop! If you have ever experienced Donna's card buffet, just imagine that on steroids! We did two classes and two make and takes, and the buffet (or bar as we like to call it for Oktoberfest) was open all day. Just thinking of it makes me giddy. We got to use the new Down Home kits from Prima that Donna designed herself. I'll have a photo of my layout posted when it comes home from Expo. We also got to make a layout using Prima paintables. I love using these with Glimmer Mist. Oh, yeah! You can totally paint with the mist. Everyone made such beautiful creations at the crop, but I was so busy I didn't get many pics. Im going to see if the girls would be willing to bring their layouts to the Blvd. so I can take photos, and I'll post them. Donna has some photos on her blog of the event so be sure to check it out, she is on my blog list so you can just click on A Painterlady's View from my blog. I think she might have a couple kits available for sale from this event. You don't want to miss them, they are yummy.

Christmas came early

It's here! It's here! It's here!
My big box of goodies from Tattered Angels arrived Friday (of course it came after I left for the crop). When I got home Friday night the big box was on the dining table. I didn't open it until Saturday morning cause I was tired Friday night, and I wanted to fully enjoy opening the box. Fast forward to Saturday a.m. Opening the box: My girls gathered around to see what was in the big box (they too are Glimmer Girls, of course). So many delicious things! The Glimmer Glass is to die for. I can't wait to start making things with this stuff, I'm so inspired right now, but I must clean house! Must decorate for Halloween! Oh, this is torture. The kids won't wait much longer for those decorations to go up, so to avoid the riot I will wait to play with my stuff till Tuesday. Keep your eyes peeled for new projects using stuff from my box of joy!
