CHA Day One

Well, I survived day one of CHA! Let me tell you, my dogs are barkin, but the pain is well worth it. I achieved my goal of meeting Tim Holtz the first fifteen minutes we were there! He's a cutie pie. I spotted some trends amongst the manufacturers: Nature themes, lots of birds, bright happy colors, lots of flowers(LOVE IT), brown and blue together, lots of vintage inspired products(really love that), and tons of bling, OMG, I've died and gone to heaven! Best make and take: Melissa Frances, Best booth, of course Tattered Angels. Second runner up in the best booth department was Graphic 45, Third was Prima. Prima has TONS of really cool new products, and some great class programs I think you all will love. I also noticed lots of canvas products, from wall canvases, to tote bags(perfect to glimmer mist). I found myself looking at all the papers from the different manufacturers and thinking,"that will go perfectly with glimmer mist color... It's so much fun to go to CHA and see people you haven't seen for a year, since last CHA. I should have titled this post "Girls Gone Wild at CHA", cause Lisa and I went wild with all of the fantastic new things coming your way soon! Quickutz has an awesome new portable Silhouette, the list of great things are endless. Really tired now, so I'll post more Tuesday night. Get Ready, CHA is Almost Here!

That's right THE big trade show for crafters - CHA is starting tomorrow! I will be posting pics of the new latest and greatest goodies from the show all week so check back everyday to see all of the hottest new scrapbooking supplies and tools that will be hitting the stores in February and March. I just love this show! If you can't get inspired at CHA you must not be breathing. Hoping to see Tim Holtz, still have never seen him in person. I will be cruising around Sunday and Wednesday, and I will be in the Tattered Angels booth Tuesday, so if your at the show be sure to stop by and say hi. I'm counting down the hours! Reflections of Love - This book is perfect to hold those old pictures of ancestors wedding photos. It just begs for black and white or sepia toned photos. Memories of Christmas Past - Pages of Tyme - Big Bear CA. Sunday, January 11th from 11:00 to 3:00. Call store for details. Now that the holidays are over you should be ready to scrap those photos, right? This class is perfect to showcase all of those holiday traditions. It also has a box that goes with it to either store your book in or to collect treasured ornaments or other holiday memorabelia in.

I'm goin' in!

Good lord, when, how did this happen? Where do I start? This is the result of too much stuff, not enough room, never enough time. I think it started in October, when the tag swag construction began. Two months of gift making, class preparing, tag swag making, and nowhere near enough time to clean up after myself. I am putting these hideous photos on my blog so I will be held accountable for cleaning this up TODAY! This way I am forced to take "after" photos to post so you all know I am NOT a scrappy pig. Now the cat is out of the bag and the extent of my scrappy hoardiness is out there for the world to see! As you can see, I have a little problem with buttons, ribbon, and flowers(a girl can never have too many flowers, right)? If anyone has any suggestion about what do do with 20 bazzillion idea books, i'd love to hear them. Every year in January I go through the years magazines and tear out the pages I think I may use later, but I can't bear to tear up my books! But seriously, something has to give! Lord, help my hoardie self!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a safe happy new year. My family and I just spent a quiet night at home. Our tradition is to have family game night on New years eve. I think this is the first year Hannah(my youngest) has stayed up until midnight. She quickly fell asleep right after the countdown. Just watching the Rose Parade on tv right now (while I blog). Ah, memories of the Rose Parade. For those high school friends of mine, you know what I'm talkin' about. Growing up in Monrovia, I spent many New Years eve's at the Rose Parade. Although, usually we were watching from home, in the comfort and warmth after spending the very cold night down there. We lived close enough to go from the parade route to home and not miss any of the parade. Why, you ask would we spend the night at the parade route, and then come home before the parade started? We were teenagers, need I say more? So, is anyone making any resolutions this year? Send me a post of your resolutions, I'd love to read them. My resolution for 2009? Organize and save all my pics that are sitting on my computer to disk. Not to jinx myself, but I just know any day there could be a catastrophic computer issue and I will lose all of my precious photos. Resolution #2 - Get my scrappy room under control. I just realized the other day, I don't have room for one more thing in that room. Not one more sheet of paper, not one more button, not one more yard of ribbon, of course Glimmer Mist is excluded from the "not one more" list, there is always room for more Glimmer Mist. So what will I do? Starting today, that's right TODAY! I will be going through all of my stuff and donating what I'm not going to use to the Sterling Inn, a retirement home here in Victorville, that has a scrapbook program for their residents. If anyone here in the area is interested in donating to the Sterling Inn, email me at luliscraps@yahoo.com and I will take your stuff to them too. I have known for a long time that I need a twelve step program for the hoardy scrapbooker, but just recently it has come to my attention, that if I don't do something about all this stuff, there will be no more new stuff, and we CANNOT have that!
